Reunion 2001

The 2001 VanSickle Reunion At Grassmere Park


Our 66th annual VanSickle reunion was held on July 8th, 2001 at Grassmere Park, RD #2, Benton, PA.  There were 35 in attendance and the food was fabulous.   Check it out: We had chicken supreme, meat balls, meat loaf, macaroni & cheese, pasta salad, stuffed pasta, beans with bacon, potatoes stuffed with cheese, a garnish dish, potato chips, 7 different soft drinks, lemonade, iced tea, 3 different cakes, brownies, cherry covered cheese cake, and more!!  If you missed out this year, too bad - maybe next year. No one left hungry and we all had a great day reminiscing.  All children under sixteen received $2 to play in the arcade, or to buy candy.  We all gathered for group pictures; afterwards, some strolled along the creek while others played catch or sat around gabbing.  In keeping up with the new millennium, we all submitted our email addresses for this new web site in hopes that all VanSickles who wish to keep in touch will do so through this modern medium.  For those who have not stayed in touch, welcome back, come on in, our 2002 VanSickle reunion will be Sunday, July 14th, at Grassmere Park.   Click on the Grassmere Park link for directions.

For the 2002 reunion, we would like to have more organization for the children, such as prizes, games, and general recreation.   As always, we welcome any suggestions to improve our annual get-together and volunteers are always appreciated.  Perhaps horse shoes or card games for the adults, so - let's have your suggestions, please.  Most importantly, contact your relatives and get early commitments to attend next year's reunion.

This year, 2001, is the first year for this web site and a lot needs to be added before it becomes complete.   One of the first undertakings will be the gathering of names, addresses, email addresses, and telephone numbers of all known VanSickle relatives - whether they have been attending or not.  So, to each of you, we request that you gather your flock and get us the needed data to better serve the reunion and this web page.   We will not use this information to harass our kin, it will help make this information available to them should they become interested or intrigued.  The links that appear on the left side of this page suggest the detail of this project.  As of August 24th, 2001, all of the links are operational, however, some are not completed.  We will email each of you as our web pages are updated or significantly changed.  If we do not have your email address, please visit often to see what's new!  Remember everyone, your input is our data, and the more we know, the better we can serve all the VanSickles who will visit this web site.
